"Offering Fastpitch Softball Opportunities To Montgomery County's Youth"

In 2004, a team of girls formed together in Montgomery County to play softball.  They called themselves the Red Raiders.  Their colors were red & black and they came from all over the up county. Several years later, a few coaches got together with the idea of creating a 'softball only' organization.  An organization that catered only to girls and their game - fastpitch softball.  An organization where girls softball, no other sport, would be in the spotlight.  An organization where girls could get the same opportunity as anyone and answer only to themselves.  Incorporated in early 2008 as a 501(c)3 public charity, Red Raider Softball, Inc. does all that and more.  We give girls a league to express themselves, grow and have fun playing the great game of fastpitch softball.

Having grown from one team to several, we are able to offer two types of youth softball - RECREATION (REC) & TRAVEL (SELECT), in several different age groups - 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U & 16U. To complete the softball experience, we have numerous training programs & clinics as well as occasions to work with college and professional players and coaches.

Our REC programs and schedules are tailored around MCPS school schedules, allowing players to focus on their studies and play softball at the same time!  We also have summer TRAVEL softball for the player that wants to participate on a more competitive level.  During the cold winter months, we have indoor Winter Workout Programs in beautiful, climate controlled gyms. Our softball seasons continue all year long!
